Local source for 60 amp main fuse

There was a spare one of those in my owners packet along with the owners manual. Is is possible you got one and put it away?

No luck there. I bought mine used and all I found besides papers and books in the packet was a new key.

Luckily they had the exact fuse at NAPA auto parts. Thank you to all that helped out. Hopefully this thread will help somebody else in the future. Part No. 782-2031

What does the fuse protect, and what caused it to blow? Was the fuse expensive? I have the same model Kioti.

This fuse protects everything except the starter. The OP reverse connected the battery which allowed massive reverse current through the alternator rectifier, which blew the fuse (and maybe damaged the alternator). I think (at least) all of the older CK and DK models have this fuse; it is inline near the starter, probably wrapped in black tape. The fuse is a common automotive item, about $5.

Yeah, I may have indeed damaged the alternator. My battery is not being charged by the tractor, I have to charge the battery every time I start it. My belt was pretty worn so I went to NAPA auto parts to try to match it up and they gave me one that is just barely too small to get on there. Does anyone know a good source for the OEM part or the part No. of one that works? I'd like to eliminate the belt as the problem before I buy a new alternator.

That belt is hard to match up at an auto parts store unless the parts person is good at it. It actually has a metric measurement for length, width, and angle. I was unable to find one from an older Toyota, Nissan, etc., that would match. I just ordered from Michigan Iron and Equipment. a Kioti dealer.

OK, thanks. I was just getting ready to order one myself and then I thought if the alternator is bad then it would save on shipping to order that at the same time. I'm going to spend some time trying to nail down if the alternator is bad. It seems to me if it was bad the tractor wouldn't keep running for hours after I start it.

Also, if you remove the alternator and take it in, most auto parts places (e.g. Advanced, Auto Zone, O'Reillys, etc.) will check it for free.
