I think that with your blade being a medium duty blade anyway and that you are not really cutting into virgin soil, but just moving soil that has been moved by traffic and what ever little weather it is that you get, you will be fine. Things start failing when you use an implement well past what it was designed for. ;)

Medium duty....I was told by the seller (can you guess who) that it was a heavy duty back blade? I will keep an eye on the blade but so far seems to be holding up ok. I think the Fit Rite hydraulic cylinder is the strongest part of the whole set up! and maybe the bracket. Also found blades for the GS locally.:)

You must never rotate the blade 180 degrees. Weight in that location for me would be a PITA as I reverse the blade frequently when backfilling trenches and ditches

With the way the blade is set up now there will be no turning it around, and so far have not needed to do that.

Here is a picture of my heavy duty rear blade and IMO, anything much less than what is in this link is at best medium duty.

Nice blade.

It has been one of my best implements. I went through the deal of the dealer telling me that the a (heavy duty medium duty) blade was all that I needed. And at 680lbs it worked fine, but it was not up to the constant large loads that my (at the time 10,000lb) tractor was able to put on it and it ultimately found itself having no curve to the moldboard as well as the moldboard ending up being bent backwards. I wish that I would have taken pictures of it, but once I bought this Land Pride unit, I never gave it another thought. ;)

The blade would have been an nice blade for a 50hp sized machine.

Own this one it will have to do cannot afford to upgrade.

No reason to upgrade if what you have works for you. I only upgraded because my blade was bending backwards and that I wanted a 9' blade. If my 8' moldboard would have held up to the loads, I would still be using it and have done as you did and made the blade angle a hydraulic function.

Nothing wrong with what you have for your conditions from what I can see. ;)

A couple of years ago when my center pin hole wallowed out on my scrape blade, after I repaired that, I welded an angle iron frame to hold 2 heavy concrete post blocks on my blade that was left over from another project. These can be removed when needed, but so far I've always kept them on there when using the blade. A little extra weight on this cheap 6 foot blade works for me so far. I thought I'd have to worry about them bouncing out, but never had that problem yet.
