Ok, bye! Don't forget to get that diffy lock checked out, you prolly broke it. :D

Diff lock on my 1720 goes in pretty smooth too, and it certainly works as I go from one wheel slipping to both wheels turning (I had thin mud). Getting into and out of 4wd is painful sometimes though. Wants a flat surface with a little forward/back (gently) sometimes to disengage.

Lift the front wheels off the ground and it will be easy to take out of 4wd

Makes sense. Didn't think of that :)

I found moving range selector to neutral helps with that if it's stuck in gear.

I already do that to get it to release. Have hilly property, so need to get up to a flat spot before getting back on to blacktop

I'm thinking I have broke something in mine. I have an old Kubota B7100 and I have always engaged it while on the move but the Massey book says stop and engage. So I have engaged it while working on my driveway with a Box blade full of dirt and wheels spinning several times and now it will not hardly engage.

Could also be a linkage adjustment? I wonder if we do damage these pins will the tell tale sign also be shavings in the filters?

Need more info, doesn't engage how? Do you mean the diff lock pedal won't go all the way down, or it goes down but the wheels still spin independently?

Also, are you trying to engage it before driving into something that you think you'll get stuck in, or do you engage it when you're stuck already with the one wheel spinning?
