I bought one of these based upon discussions here on it. At $30 I gave pause, but I would buy again. It does help that you don't have to hold the coupler in place as you pump grease.

The short comings of this coupler....I can't get it into some spots due to it's bulk/length. With the coupler came a short note....
"You can take the standard coupler that you replaces and thread a 45 or 90 into it. Then clip the old coupler to the new coupler. Now you have a handly little adapter at no cost."

How? The back end of the coupler has threads on it to screw into your solid or flexible end of the grease gun. I need to screw in a zerk there to make this work.

What I really want in another flexible hose to screw this old coupler to, then screw a zerk some how on the other end. Then you can attach the LocknLube to the zerk on the hose. Doing some googling I found one like that, but they wanted $37+ for it.

Check at your local auto parts store, get a zerk with the 1/8 inch pipe thread and a female coupler to the hose.

Lets try a word picture:.. Look at the pictures above for reference.. Now lets start on one end. Step 1, screw the zerk into the female to female coupler you see above.

Now get a 1/8 male to 1/8 male flexible hose. and screw one end of this flex hose into the other end of the female coupler that has the zerk.
Now screw your original coupler into the free end of the 1/8 flex hose. So it now looks like this: original coupler, flex hose, female to female coupler, zerk..

Savvy?

Grab a 1/8" street elbow, either 45* or 90* from any hardware store. Screw a zerk into the female end of the elbow, and add your old grease gun coupler to the male threads of the elbow. Now you can pop the coupler from this new tool onto the hard to reach (odd angled) zerk, and pop the LocknLube onto the zerk end of this new tool.

Actually i found zerks with 1/8" threads and the zerk screwed right into the coupler. Zerks i have seen had much smaller holes.... Didn't realize they existed.

Used the tube, removed when I put a hose on the lever gun, to make an adapter for a recessed zerk on the TORO front deck mower.
