log bridge roads/ Corduroy road

We have a rain/ snow water pond and when it is full it runs into the neighbor's along a normally dry creek and over to the main creek. Our land is lower than the pond/ creeks and the spring water runs our way and it is very wet. I have quite a few trees cut and saved and thought about building some small roadways/ bridges, maybe 5- 10 ' long by 5' wide. So my thought is to lay a few logs along the path and then place logs across the path and nail some planks on top. Anyone have any experience in this kind of road/ bridge?
I have done a bit of research but come up with nothing conclusive. Read this but do not want to buy fabric or whatever, just want to be able to walk in the trails any time of the year. Also be able to drive the lawn tractor over the road/ bridge. Thanks, Henry.

A corduroy road will work for trails if you cover the logs otherwise they will start to rot. I have a trail that I have been building with a corduroy road as it's low lying and due to the years or peat build-up, with clay underneath, water just sits. I am no where near finished as I have approx. 1000ft to complete but I'll get there someday. I cut the trees as I go and use my tractor to dig up decent pit-run type soil to lay over the logs. It's very time consuming with only one guy and have been considering wrapping this project in with my dream pond project so some of that earth can be laid by a dozer, it would go a lot faster.
