I have a new BX22 that I would like to attach a log splitter to the 3 pt hitch. Northern Tool has one for sale, but I do not understand how the hydraulics need to be hooked up. Here is the wording from the Northern Tool website:
Three-Point Hitch Log Splitter for Tractors
Powerful splitter fits class I and II tractors. Includes 8 inch high wedge, valve mount, heavy duty slide, cylinder mounts and 4in. bore x 24in. stroke cylinder. Has 4-way control valve fittings to hook up cylinder and valve. An excellent buy! If you have a closed center system tractor, choose a closed center valve. Do not use a detent valve with tractors that have hydraulic couplers on return line. Does not include hydraulic hoses or quick disconnects.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Does my tractor have enough hydraulic flow and pressure for this machine to work? Do I need any other valves or just the hoses with the correct couplings?
Thanks in advance!
