We have an electric splitter, useless on redgum but maybe ok for cracking macadamias:licking:

No problem. I don稚 have my build pics handy but it痴 basically a 鼎arry All steel platform with a 2 inch receiver bought on Amazon. Many design ideas out there. My priorities were a large 2x12 platform to work on with a shelf underneath for all the ancillaries.

Hmmmm, kinda cool. Not sure I could adapt one though.

I know someone who splits in the vertical position while sitting on a stool and has his wife push the rounds into position.:shocked:

It does not work that way at my place. When I put my splitter in vertical position it is because I cannot or prefer not to lift the rounds. With the rounds that heavy I end up on my knees to move them around. I usually cleave off side slabs all the way around, then split into pie sections once it is small enough.

I would like to have a small electric splitter for the pieces that end up being too large for the stove. But not for primary splitting.

I'm no wood splitting professor..but I'm wondering if having a 4way would help eliminate some of the unsprung force ?

I was always a big splitter (22 ton minimum) kind of guy and would chuckle at my neighbor who would buy split wood then split again to store it using a little electric splitter. But darn they are handy when the big one is put away especially when needed for a minute here and there.

I have one customer for 1.5 cords. I split into chunks around 6"-8". He re-splits with a small electric down to almost kindling sizes. This year he wheeled it out and and was splitting away while I was off to get my second load. I had to ask him to cease while I was unloading as I couldn't watch him and throw chunks at the same time. That little splitter ws doing a nice jub. I have also seen on splitting big rounds of black locust.

LOL Thats actually funny . However I'am guessing its a 5 ton or less Chinese clone ? See any brand name on it ?

scheppach but looks the same as ryobi and a host of others, just a different colour.
