log splitters

Welcome from Oklahoma. Don't have a splitter myself, but dad went with a tow behind unit. He'd move the logs to the splitter using the tractor, and as one of us was splitting the tractor could still be used to get more logs.

I have a 22 ton Oregon made tow behind with a 5 hp Briggs that is vertical and horizontal...

Been using it quite a bit lately and use the loader to bring up the rounds to the splitter...

I bought used so the tow behind splitter was my least expensive option...

Another plus for me is I can take the splitter to other areas...distances I wouldn't want to tow or drive the Kubota.

I thank everyone for taking the time to respond to my question. I had a hard time logging in therefore my response time was late. I am leaning toward a tow behind so I could use the tractor front end loader to bring the wood to the splitter. Thanks again.

Makes sense, I can still go get the wood and bring it to where I want split but I hear ya. One thing though with the three point is when someone is helping with the splitting you have to stop them when you go, lol. Best Wishes and Welcome again..
