And the rear.

For all who think my tractor never gets dirty, did you see the mud on the front tires? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

John, I think the reason the rears aren't protected is because the stems are so deep inside the wide rims and on the inside of the wheel. That gives them a "reasonable" amount of protection. In Kris's case, it wasn't enough. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Sorry Kris. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif It's no fun having a broke tractor, no matter how simple the cure. All I could think of was sheesh! He just got it back and this happens. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Corporate cheapness by CNH? No attention to details?

That stem protector you have seems pretty.. inadequate.. you'd think thaey could have flipped for about another half inch on it...

Soundguy; I have to agree with you. The front protectors seem to be mounted backwards even. Like Jinman mentioned, the rears are self protected by the wide wheel depth. But, it is pretty chintzy at best. It's too bad NH seems to be maybe going the way of the auto companies many years ago. Chrysler somewhat learned that lesson the hard way. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Dave, loaded means it's filled with liquid calcium chloride for weight... I need to find a place to get that stuff put in the tire after I change the stem...

Brad,

According to my dealer, who has been around long enough to know, they don't have problems with wheels rusting out. I've seen some very old wheels, which have little if any signs of rust on the inside..

what they do is lay the tire on it's side to fill it, that way, when you stand it up, the liquid is fully covering the wheel on the inside, so no air can get to the steel. supposedly, this keeps the rusting to a minimum..

Simply using a non-leaky tube will keep the wheels from rusting as well.

Can always load with WW fluid.. water and antifreeze.. etc.
