3rd load... hopefully another 3-5 more will be available. Been bloody cold up here so I haven't had a chance to bolt on receiver. Averaging just shy over a cord of wood per load.
I left the trailer at the base of driveway - no place to park trailer and the driveway is very steep. I shuttled wood via loader down the hill and dumped on trailer. I have been cutting, hauling and trailering home in the AM and splitting and stacking in the PM... kids and wife have been helping to put the wood in the shed. This will last us for the next two years. - hopefully. We have been burning more this winter - extreme cold and more snow than previous years.

Afternoon Lloyd.. I'm up past New Germany in Springfield.
I wanted to add a hitch also to my winch but I thought that as soon as the winch is lifted the trailer will drag the rear end

Good day rbq... ya there is not a lot of wiggle room for the trailer. It sits pretty low to the ground. I may work on it this weekend. I can fine tune and adjust the winch height to help with the trailer balance a bit. Even when I tow with my truck there are certain grades/driveways I avoid with the trailer. I usually park the trailer on the road and bring the wood to the trailer.

Cold up your way this morning -20+... good time to start taping the trees.

Dropped more trees yesterday. Have another six to do over the next few days. To give you a sense of scale, the stump you see in pic 2&3(see survey tape) is mid-chest on me. I saw the large chunks and split with a wedge... this gets them small enough to lift onto the trailer - still big chunks though.

I see Lloyd you do the same thing as I with splitting big chunks by hand. Cut into the round a bit with the chain saw then I have at it with the 12# maul. I've cut into the round as little as 2" to have them split like cup cakes. Makes a 24"-30" diameter hunk quite manageable as the quarters are easier to pick up to be split by the gas job.

Yup... I am finally being smart about doing stuff instead of going at like a bull... good time of year too, a little warmth from the sun, wood is still frozen so it is easy to split.

You've got the same issue I have, Lloyd. I'd like to take the trailer with me but the winch is in the way. Funny, we have the same winch, too..

I thought about adding a receiver tube, but haven't made up my mind yet. I don't like the possibility of the trailer pushing the winch up, although it's unlikely with any tongue load at all.
