Yep. According to Dodge (see the link I posted above), the "Maximum Trailer Weight" for the Dakota is 7200 lbs.
That's a bit more than 1000.
A Toyota Corolla is rated at 1500.

When I bought my backhoe I had a trailer and the seller loaded it. If the seller is willing to load I think a U-haul trailer is about a hundred bucks. If the seller can't load it a rollback is about the only option with unknown resources on your part.

Yep, a rented little utility trailer and tow it with the dakota.
