I am looking for a starter motor for a 72? Long Backhoe, the starter is missing, I need either the numbers off of the starter, or a parts manual, or a starter
can you find out what series motor you have i have application book but all is done by motor number or model number some of the most common series are as follows;
UTB2-
UTB3-
UTB4-
2-
3-
AND
4-
THE OTHER FACTOR APPEARS TO BE WHAT COUNTRY IT WAS MADE FOR SALE IN THE ORIGINAL STARTER HAD A ROMANIAN BUILT STARTER IF IT WAS SOLD IN A DIFFERENT PART OF EUROPE OR THE USA THE MANUFACTURES COULD HAVE BEEN BOSCH OR MARELLI AND ALL ARE STILL AVAILABLE EITHER O/E OR AFTERMARKET.
Mitch, Steve Here, does your manual say where to look for the motor model number? I would also be very happy to pay for a copy of you manual. I am assuming because the I found the hoe here locally it was manufactured in the US. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
steve i dont have abook just for long tractors i am in the starter and alternator business wholesale all i have is the application book that i use but if you could take a picture of where the starter bolts to engine and can measure the distance between the bolt holes we can probably figure it out. your tractor if typical will have a perkins motor built in uk. when we get to this point it will be easy i hope to figure it out also need to know if starter bolt from front of engine or back of engine also setting in the seat which side of tractor it fits either left or right from seat. also once we find something i can put you in touch with a supplier in your part of the world sounds like a lot of looking but not really and you should be able to get a starter for under $300.00 new probably aftermarket but i still have afew supplier offering new o/e. good luck
steve if you would go to Welcome to Dixie Electric go to electronic catalogue in the middle of page you will find the search box put in part number dm2130 this is the most common starter used by long tractor it is a very good picture maybe this will give you a better way to look at your tractor let me know if it appears to be correct.
