Backhoe "Long" brand backhoe

I have been wanting a backhoe for some projects for quite a while. Who hasn't!?!?!? I have contemplated an attachment for my Kubota L3710 but they seem so expensive any brand you buy. I am not sure I want to subject my tractor to those stresses either, even with a subframe. I recently found an old used Long backhoe that looks decent from the posted pictures on Craigslist. Has anyone had any experience with these? My dad and I used to own a Long 360 that gave us very good service. I know that unit was made in Romania in a Fiat licensed plant. This backhoe looks entirely different. Does anyone know who made these for Long? Where were they made? Of course, I know that Long is now out of business. I wonder how hard it would be to find parts? I posted this thread under construction equipment but only got one response. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

there are many 3rd party 3pt hitch backhoes with sub frames. though sub frame may need to be modified some to fit a particular tractor. woods backhoe also seems to come to mind first.

many folks have them.

and in a couple years, will more likely have one myself.

my story is, it was a choice between a utilty class tractor, with 3pt backhoe and subframe, or go with a larger size TLB (tractor loader backhoe) i ended up on craiglist, tractorhouse, machinerytrader, and a couple other websites. and dollar for dollar. and more so what needed to be done here on the farm. it was decided to get the ford / new holland 555c TLB. 4 cylinder diseal, like the TLB you might see driving around a city / town. mower power longer reach, backhoe. and i am able to pull a lever and just turn seat to operate backhoe and came with a cab to boot.

once i get done with some major projects here on farm. i will sell the 555c TLB for a smaller utilty class tractor. and more likely opt for a smaller size 3pt backhoe. i take that back i will not opt, but will have a smaller size 3pt backhoe for it.
