Australian (rabbit) felt wide brim hat. Very stylish and expensive.

I spent 29 years in construction, my hair was long enough to comb. My hair would get dusty, dirty and oily. Don't remember who, but I

mentioned that my shampoo wasn't very good about cleaning my hair. The lady said use baby shampoo first. I said it's gentle for babies.

I tried it and it worked great. Then I used my regular shampoo. Now my hair is very short, so I use it on my beard first, then regular

shampoo.

In my early 60s I had a comb over until the barber said I was wasting my time! After that I cut it myself with a #3 attachment.
As a kid my grandfather cut everyone's hair until his clipper attachment fell of cutting my uncle's hair giving him a reverse Mohawk. Cordovan shoe polish "helped".
I had a customer years ago that had a full head of hair until one day he sneezed and it shot out like a whip...he was bald but let sides grow out winding it around like a turban.
Another customer wore a toupee with the sideburns on top of his glasses.
My wife has the thickest black hair I've ever seen and when we met as teens it was very long, triple processed white. She wore "granny" glasses and Dad hadn't met her yet, but passed us on the highway. At dinner he was very quiet then finally said "son...who was that old woman with you today?".
We know women who have these super short "man-do" (we call it) hair cuts which doesn't make sense. What I don't understand is as I started going bald I grew hair on my back!?!
I thought about just letting my eyebrows grow out and comb them back. Every time I wake up from a nap my wife says it looks like I just invented something.

Part of the aging process, at least for me. I can no longer grow hair on the top of my head...instead, it grows like crazy out of my ears and nose and eyebrows.

I hear you!

50+ years ago in Vietnam most of us were pretty shaggy...there were other priorities besides being clean-cut. My enlistment was up about the time my tour in Vietnam was up so instead of being reassigned to another location I was given an "early out". Since my home of record was in Pennsylvania I was sent to Philadelphia to go through the separation process, after which I was free to go (but in the reserves for a couple more years). Before they handed us our separation paperwork releasing us from active duty they marched all of us down to the barber shop and gave us a boot camp haircut (skinhead!). I was really pissed! At this time military personnel were not treated nicely by a lot of the general public so it was not good to be easily identified as military. I was so pissed I didn't get a haircut or shave for almost two years...long flowing beard and hair down to the middle of my back.

What changed me back to cleancut was that I got a job in a magnesium mine in Nevada. Good job with great pay - but like most mining jobs, you got really dirty. Having to take care of all that long hair and beard in those dirty conditions got to me. I had to realize that no one really much cared about how long my hair was, and spending all that time caring for it and keeping it clean was such a pain. I got another "boot camp" haircut, shaved my beard, and have been a clean-shaven skinhead ever since. So much easier!
Dang I had to stop and think about, that was along time ago, hard to believe it's been 50 years+ but it has.
