Hello,

My research for a new tractor has narrowed down to the BX1500 as a possible choice. Based on what I have learned in this forum, I feel this is the best for my immediate application (mowing smooth grounds).

I'm curious to hear from any long term BX1500 owners. Are you happy with your tractor? Any surprises (good or bad)?

I'm also curious to hear about any warranty claims and if Kubota treated you fairly with the repair.

Any regrets?

thanks, Brian

Hi Brian,

I have had my BX1500/54"MMM/FEL and rear blade for a little over 1.5 years and have no regrets. I mow 3 rough acres, plow and move snow on a 400' driveway etc. w/o a problem. You'll be surprised what the 15hp engine can do. I think the only thing I replaced was the air filter strap that broke with the vibration but others have had that problem on the 3 cylinder BX's too. The BX1500 has not been around that long so I wouldn't expect any long term owners to reply.
Good Luck!

Hello Brian: I got my bx1500 this summer. So I'm not long term. Yet I have been very happy with the machine. It has FEL and the 54"( I beleive) MMM. The only problem I have experienced is mounting the FEL. As far as I can tell it must be on level ground. Also the extreme shake of the motor when it is turned off. I have reduced some of the shake, by giving it more fuel to a nice even idle, then turing the key off.
Good luck JBR

I have to agree with other Kevin, mine is about 1.5 years also. It had a couple minor warranty issues which were resolved without any problems.

Thought I'd chime in with the same reply as the other owners above: I've owned my BX1500 (MMM, FEL, back blade, rake) for about 1.5 years ~70 hours. Very uneventful. I use it for mowing about 2 acres, moving snow in northeastern Mass, and some general landscape-type stuff.

Everyone thanks!

Has the weight of the tractor been a concern with damaging your grass?

It has wide tires and a low weight per sq inch on the ground. I have mowed 2 summers and am well satisfied.

I have a L3410 for the big stuff but I'm looking at the bx1500 for just yard work and cutting grass. Seems like every dealer that I've talked to tries to push me up to the bx1800 because they claim the 15hp will bog down in tall grass. Keep in mind none of the dealers had any 1500's in stock. What do you guys say?

I wanted a bx1500 but the price of the bx1800 ended up being cheeper because it had sat for some time. Seems people get the 1500 or jump right over the 1800 to the next size. I ended up paying something like $8400 for my bx1800 with a 60 deck

I have used my 1500 for two summers and it does not bog down in heavy grass. Maybe if it was a foot long I would see some bogging. In any normal grass cutting operation it has plenty of power at 3/4 throttle. I normally mow somewhere between 3/4 and 7/8, blow snow at full throttle as the blower needs more power than the mower.
