I got my hydraulic gauge put together today. I bought the gauge online (https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=21-1044&catname=hydraulic). After it arrived I went to the local JD dealer to get the male hydraulic quick coupler plug (AM102420) for the gauge and the hydraulic shims (AM875169). I then went to a local hydraulic shop to get an adapter to join the gauge to the coupler plug.
Before the mod, my JD770 showed 2000psi at low idle and 2100psi at full throttle. I installed 3 of the 5 (1 of the thickest and 2 of the thinnest) shims that came in the package. After the mod my tractor showed 2250psi at high idle and 2350psi at full throttle. No leaks. I am very pleased with the results. My model 70 loader will now pick up the front just enough to spin the front tires.
