Hope all are doing ok out there in the tractorbynet country??? It's been quite a while since I cranked my Yanmar (she should be rested up). I know the motor is dry as a cotton swab. Should I turn the motor over for a while and let the oil pump work some oil in the motor???? Will this get too much diesel in the chamber? Are there any possibilities that something could explode getting too much fuel in it???

First how long has it been sitting? If longer then a month I would do the following.

Check water level in battery and fill as needed.
Check Oil level
Check Coolant level
you should have a decompression lever on or near your dashboard, pull that and turn the engine for about 5 seconds or so, release and it should fire.

Let engine idle at 1500 RPM for about 5 or so minutes before working it with a load, also your hydraulics may be a bit slow until the fluid warms and pumps back through the system. I guess when it sits awhile all fluid drains out back to the reservoir, if I let my yannie sit to long the 3pt is really really sluggish until it warms well.

As far as anything exploding I have no idea about that??

Smoody about covered it.

Leave the throttle at zero, and no fuel will go in while you spin it to prime the oil.

One thing to keep in mind: If you're battery is just a little low on water, you should charge it before adding distilled water. Adding water to a battery with only 1/2 or no charge is bad juju.
I know because I have a solar setup with some rather expensive batteries that I take VERY good care of.

Good tip Slacker! I wasn't aware of that myself.

Thanks
