The deputies all started laughing too. Probably they were thinking, geez, man , if you want to impress a woman you don't take her driving a tractor. Of course they didn't know that was a treat for me! This was a really complicated piece of machinery though. I think it had 19 gears and it could top 30mph. It has a ton of sensers. It would be a little while before I could pilot this thing without someone knowledgable sitting next to me. It does turn easily and nicely. It is supposed to have duals put on it soon. I hope my new friend didn't get in trouble at work today though!

Gee, if I'd only known... I could have really wow'ed you last week. ;) I bought a JD9400 at auction and drove it home. If you liked 300 horse, you'd have loved this one with 700HP and articulated steering with logger tires about 6' wide on all four corners! :D

That big Case looks like it has some type of Quick Hitch on it also.

Is that from Case??

I noticed from the pic that they must have been reading some of the threads here when they built that. Looks like filter (oil, hyd, or fuel) visible from side and easy to get to, already has work lights (4) mounted on back, looks like blinkers, flashers and reflectors all over. Looks like a cheap setup on the steps though, plastic fuel/hydr. tank, plastic fenders, nice enclosed cab (don't know how it would do in the smoke test). I noticed on the tractor to the right it appears to have different cab and lights, tires look worn, maybe just because they were dirty. Maybe it doesn't have the cab heat problem that one poster has with his JD. Nice ride tho.

I will ask and let you know.

I didn't even know there were 700Hp tractors. Gee, now I need to drive one of those, too!

Case-IH has worked very hard over the past ten years or so trying to make their equipment more user friendly. John Deere has led the way in that regard for decades. Little things like filter location and serviceability might be the difference in making a sale or losing it. As for the plastic, that's the only way to go. Plastic fuel tanks have been around for quite a while in industrial and agricultural equipment. Generally plastic stands abuse and use better than metal with no worries about paint loss or dents. Lastly, the tractor in the background might be used. :)

It's a big boy, for sure. I've actually worked with one that we used to pull a ripper that opened the ground and buried 6" drain tile in the field and closed the soil over it again. It takes some HP to do something like that in some of the clay we have around here. It also gets used pulling a 9 yard earth mover cutting through the same clay to put in ponds. It's really amazing what that thing can do. :D

Well, this is the deal on the quick hitch. It was ordered with the tractor but Case/IH doesn't make it. They make the engines, drive lines and frame but many of the other parts are subcontracted like the quick hitch, rims, electrical and computer components and lights. So, Case provides it, but doesn't actually manufacture it.

A good buddy of mine has a 3 tractors comparable to that one, his newest is an MX 230. Not only are all the fluid filters easy to get too but the cabin air filter is under the cab and it slides out between the steps making it simple to change. Literally all the fuid servicing can be done from almost one area on the tractor making it quick and easy.
As for the sensors, yes it has alot, it even has an alarm that goes off telling you the pto is not running and another one telling you the hitch is locked (you can lock it so it can't be operated, ie when going down the road etc) and it thinks it has to buzz saying somethgin every 5-10 minutes. But to what Roxy said yes it is very nice to drive and operate.
Almost all of the tractors that big that have a 3-point on them have a quick hitch, you cant imagine how hard it is to perfectly align something that big and get out and get back in to re-adjust your alignment to hook something up to it, the quick hitch is a must with machines that big. My buddy has to take his quick hitch off to hook up to his planter, it gets in the way of the hydraulic pump mounted on the planter that powers the air fans and blowers.

as for hooking up to tillage equipment and operating it, it gets old and boring pretty quick!
