Looking 2 buy a Kioti CK30HST or Kubota B3030HSD

( They are both nice tractors, pretty much apples to apples. I actually compared the 3130 to the CK30 )

This is about the same as comparing a 1/2 ton to a 3/4 ton pickup truck. Both might be about the same HP, but their capacities are totally different. The L3130 is much more machine than a CK30 is, few people would question that. The B7800/B3030 are a bit smaller/ligher, the L2800/L3400 are a bit larger.

Not really. 3130 is pretty much the same as CK30 with a nod to the 3130 for a little extra capacity. Haven't we been down this road before? I think the result was that the tractors aren't identical but about as close as you can get between the brands. Certainly the CK is not in the same league as the L line of economy tractors.

I seem to remember you splitting hairs over loader capacity but you forgot to consider the Woods loader on the Kioti. Maybe that was someone else.

I donno Highbeam..

When I compared the CK30 to my L3400 when I was shopping, the CK30 came very close to my L3400 in the the places that mattered to me and probably would to most buyers.

3PT lift was close - some advantage to the CK30 here but I doubt it would make a difference in the implements one would use for this size tractor.

Loader capacity seemed evenly matched.

PTO hp was better on the L3400.

CK30 was heavier but the weight difference wasn't quite the CK30 vs. B3030. CK30 also had some other niceties that were not important to me - MID PTO, telescopic lower links.

The CK30 is a first class machine at a good price and is more tractor than the L3400 but I wouldn't go so far as to say that they are in a totally different league.

It's the niceties that weren't important to you that sets the CK line apart from the L3400 line, I wanted those niceties plus HST (not available in the L at the time) in a tractor with real sized tires so the 3130 was the only Kubota fitting the bill. Their really isn't a 100% equal to the CK30 from the Kubota line. But that's neither here nor there.

The question of B3030 vs. CK30 is the one at hand and the good news is that these tractors have some key differences so a better choice will fall out for the poster.

Awert,
I'm gonna throw my 2 cemts worth in the pot, and I'm not gonna compare the CK30 to every model Kubota makes, as I only compared the CK30 to the B3030 (I really thought that was the original question).
To put it up front, both are fine machines.
The deciding factor for me was, and this was in my area, the CK30 was a little over $4k less than the B3030.
I will say that the 3030 would have worked for me, but I enjoy it every time I get on the Kioti.
Oh yea, as I know how these threads go, if anyone would like to see the quotes, I've got two (2) Kubota quotes and two (2) Kioti quotes.
My recommendation, drive both, find a dealer you like and enjoy the seat time.

Hi Awert,
I haven't seen a huge Kioti following in central Ontario, yet -- maybe things are different out West? They might be the next best thing coming, but until that time, if the features, price and dealers are attractive for each machine, I would go with the more established reputation. Adds a little peace of mind in case you need to sell unexpectedly. I was rather disappointed that the Kioti dealer wouldn't be more competative with his pricing...great guy, just didn't want to make a deal.
I'm sure you would be happy with either machine in the end.
Shawn

Hello awert,If most of your work is lawn mowing, and your looking for a mid mount mower, id say go with the B3030. Both machines will use a 72in rear mower, the kubota will be more agile. If you plan on doing alot of ground engaging work, box blade, post hole digging, brush hogging, loader work, go with the Ck30. The ck30 was 1000 less then the B3030 when i was looking a year ago. Both machines are very good . Dont let anyone scare you on the Ck30. I heard the same thing a year ago and I couldnt have asked for more then what my Ck30 has done so far, met and exceeded all expectations..The ck30s are becoming very popular. The new Kiotis also have a 4 yr warranty as well...There are plenty of happy owners of each here on tbn.. Good luck

Wow! If the CK30 had been $4K less than the L3400 (which is priced about the same as the B3030 here), there would have been a good chance that I ended up with the CK30 instead.

Awert, my CK30 with FEL, dual remote,72 box blade, auxiliary lights,60 and 72 bucket with hooks 22500 + the famous tax, the B3030 was about 4500 more with the same extra as mention above...cag

Hey Dodgeram! How long ago did you get ur quotes and yes if u don't mind I'd like to see them. Would be a big help as Kioti Dealers are a little scarce around here to get quotes from and it would help me in my research! Cheers
