I only asked because Farmwithjunk is a very resourceful individual - I was hoping he had another new source of information for us /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Also, I could care less what color it is - I like the best value

Brown makes some very impressive cutters.

Thanks for the heads up on Brown. I was not familar with them or thier eqp. It do look good! They seem to make premium grade equipment that looks like it would last a good long time.

I have no idea what current prices are for cutters with the crazy steel market, but a woods BB600 in 2001 with front and rear chains cost 1475.95 delivered. I see the comparable Brown cost is $2064 (list), I sure hope they give discounts from that price!

Yes - the website list prices are discounted by distributors - I bought my 484 a couple of years ago for appx. $2200 and list then was appx. $2800 if I remember correctly. Comp. BH and JD units were selling for the list price on the Brown w/no discounts and Rhino's were even more$$$

I know the unit I have is a 7' HD, but just wanted to share other options with fellow TBNers

I have put mine thru tough workouts in the short time I have owned it and am very pleased - more time will tell how good it really is.

John Miller III had some impressive posts on this unit and influenced my purchase decision.
