So I pulled the trigger yesterday. I was able to talk him down $500, not as much as I wanted but everything is in great shape. I think it was a fair deal, not a great deal, but fair. (at least that is what I am telling myself!)

I did the service on the tractor today; changed the engine oil, tranny/hydraulic fluid, air filter, fuel filter, flushed the coolant and lubricated the grease fittings. I have to say I am really impressed with how much oil is involved with a tractor!

The tiller is in great shape, the blades are not beat up and he kept the gears greased well.

I had a chance to play with the tiller and the PTO seems solid. I have to agree the 3ph is a bit jerky, but after playing with it a bit I don't mind it that much. I do wish it was a bit smother.

The only issue I have run across is after the tractor runs a bit and I shut it off, it can be a little touchy to start. Meaning I have to fidget with the clutch and the parking break lock to get the engine to turn over. I'm guessing one of the safety switches is flakey after it warms up a bit. I'll play with that tomorrow.

I have to admit so far owing a tractor is 10x cooler then I imagined!!!!

Thanks again for all the help!

You bought it before I had a chance to say anything, but I think you'll like it. I bought mine last year and have enjoyed it. You will find more uses for the FEL than you imagined. Best of luck.

Another thing to check is the front axle oil... even from the dealer, mine was a quart low. Welcome to the club and Congrats!!!

Just finding a good used Kubota is half the battle. 400 hours its just getting broke in. $13,500.00 is a good deal and with the cost of the new ones jumping 15-20% on the pollution standards, these tractors will hold their value.
