I, too, looked at the 6520 first but after checking the price difference have decided to go with the 7520. The dealer I have been speaking with quoted me a difference of only $1900.00 between the two tractors. The 7520 weighs a little more, has a little higher lift capacity, a couple of extra features and has a higher hydraulic output than the 6520. That will result in faster FEL operations if you are considering a FEL on your tractor, which I am. It is well worth the difference to me just for that alone but your also getting the extra horsepower, something I think will be a benefit in the long run. You might want to take a look at the 7520 and what that extra bit of cash will get you before you buy.

CuzPat62, did you ever find a 7520 to sit on? Or are you buying site unseen like I did? Just wondering.

srbruiser,
CuzPat spelled out the biggest differences, and that is why we generally stock the 7520 4x4 and not the 6520 4x4. People always talk themselves into the higher HP unit. I expect the 6520 would be totally satisfactory for most things though.

Well they just dropped off the 6520, so I’m off and running, only 3.2 hours on it wait till the weekend is over!

Cuz-Pat and Dave thanks for the input

I'm curious, why do you guys think you need 6520s and 7500 tractors?
What are you doing with it? I have 67 acres and a lot of work to do. What does a 6520 go for 4wd with and without a loader?
What are you doing on your farm or business?

I am looking at a 4530 or a 5500 tractor. The 6520 and 7520 look like different tractors knowing they are bigger. Do they have Mitsuibishi engines?

I had a 6500 before and when they came out with the 7520 and open platform, I traded my 6500. I only have 10 acres, but it is very hilly and I like the extra weight and horsepower when I am using the fel or pulling loads of corn around for the corn furnace. Did I need that large of a tractor? No, but it handles the big round bales of hay excellent and does everything I want and as long as I am going to be keeping it around for many years, why not get something that will do everything I need to do and be safe. Just my 2 cents worth. Forgot to add, it is a Mahindra engine in my 7520.

Maybe he was stuck at work?:D And if that was the case, not very many.

Hey Powerhouseboy, do you have 4 small holes about 2-2 1/2 inches apart in a square pattern on the right hand side of the cowl? I still would like to know what those are there for. Does anybody with a 7520 know? Larry, do you have these?

No, mine doesnt have these holes, nor does it have that [guard?] that looks like you pivoted it up to give a clear view of the holes. Is that a valuable part in your opinion? I havnt missed it in my ignorance.

As far as the 4 holes, I just would like to know what and why they are there. As far as the guard that you are talking about, the decal for loader control is on it, and I have not moved it. Is that guard something that you don't have?
Hey, did you get your loader sub frame?

 Ya know- when you mentioned loader control decal a light came on. Its in my scrap metal bin. I tend to remove unecessary parts that are above COG. Dont worry about those holes they fit the category.;)

I notified somebodys about the sub frame starting almost 2 wks ago - appreciated the pics! Nobody in authority seems to be around or at least theyre not talking to me. I cant really tell whether that company flies by day or by nite sometimes.

Well....thanks for the welcome....I have about 140 hours on my 7520 and I have loved every hour!!! I don't put many hrs on, but it works great when I need it. As far as the four little holes, I am lost at what they would be for. Brian

Those 4 holes are just weird. I think that mine is the only 7520 that has them. Your 7520 was made before mine I think, and Larry's was made after mine I think. Not that they are important, just wonder why they were put there. Those 4 holes also have welded in nuts on the underside. Oh well, just thought that I would ask.

Brian,
Yours is the only 7520 with the holes and the only 7520 that is blue too. Maybe they go together?

That had not entered my mind, but apparently you are right. I wish that somebody over in India at the Mahindra plant would see this and think, I put those holes there, now why did I do that? :D ;)
