Found an early 1970s model Ford 2000 in good condition. Tires on tractor are like new and tractor comes with a bush hog. Tractor is a 6 speed and does not have power steering or live pto but comes with an overrun clutch. Owner is wanting $3000.00 for all. Is this a good price? I am not new to tractors just haven't priced them in a long time.

Sounds like a pretty good price to me....they're usually pretty rough for $3K around here.

Diesel would be a great buy if everything is in order. 6 sp tranny is a good one. Tranny driven PTO is not near as good as Live especially on things like post hole digging. The overrun clutch is like $65 new so no biggie there. Power steering not necessary on that tractor, especially with a load on the 3 pt like the mower you mentioned.
I have the earlier model 2000 in 4 cyl, 4 spd. tranny PTO. Also have a near model 3000 3 cyl. with the 6 speed and Live PTO. Both are diesels and are as great on fuel as one could possibly expect. Pretty bullet proof tractors.
