Hey guys,

I will be looking at a JD 455 in a few days, anything to look for? It has 1200 hours and is paired with a 60in deck. Talked him down to $2500 on it.

I’m also picking up a JD 318 tomorrow also, it has a newer LX790 Lamar Onan engine, unknown hours. I’m buying it to resell but who knows lol. IMG_9830.JPGIMG_9831.JPGIMG_9832.JPG

Any in-site on both would be helpful.

I didn’t steal it but I did ok, cosmetic issues mainly.

Tractor should last a long time.

To add to an old thread, I ended up selling that 318 for a good profit. The 455 I now hate because how much it took to bring back to where it should be so it’s for sale.

455 does a good job mowing but with the money I have spent on it, I’m over it, time for something else. Going back I would have passed on it.

Runs like a top, not a thing wrong with it now. Only things left to change are the seat and tail lights. I added the revised reverse pedal and a Ruegg Cat 1 3pt hitch. Mechanically sound.

For sale. Small issues turned out to be big money fixes thanks to cost of Deere parts. Husqvarna repairs were less than $100, so far this 455 repairs are $300-$600 each time! Crazy!

Lets see, I have owned a 316, 318, 420 and a 430. I liked them all BUT they have no give at all. Uncomfortable tractors IMO, okay when you're young.. My brother just sold his 520H wheelhorse because it would rattle you're teeth mowing the lawn..

I have owned 4 318s and never mowed with one lol. I have a 332 project in the garage now. Doesn’t run yet. So never mowed with 300 series. 455 is comfortable enough. Has suspension seat also.

I used mine with a power angle front blade mostly, they are so heavy and stiff that they will spread material really well and they do a good job pushing snow..
