We all have our favorites and for our own reasons, but I found LS to be the best value overall. Dealer proximity wasn't an issue for me since they're all more or less the same distance one way or another. I preferred buying from a small independently owned shop though instead of the corporate ones that don't really need my money.

the more I look at the ls to more I like it, do you have a mid mount mower on yours?

I do indeed and it works well for my needs. It takes a bit of work to install and remove it, but not too bad.

I have a similar yard to the OP, just under 3 acres with half still wooded. We opened up a little more area last year and are working on the landscaping and garden (and some water flow from the woods :/ ), and I knew my JD x590 wouldn't be useful for some of this work. I ended up buying a Massey GC1710 with R4 tires. The Massey and JD dealers are the closest to my house, followed by Mahindra and NH/Kioti. While the JD dealer is fine, green and yellow gets pricey in a hurry! I liked the Massey dealer, and liked the tractor when I drove it around. The GC1710 has a backhoe as part of the package (which has been used more than the FEL so far). I'll keep the x590 around as it has the mower/bagger and a snow thrower and I'll get a plow for the Massey (we have a 175' driveway with an additional turnout for the house's garage under parking.

LS actually makes that tractor ground up. So unless the NH is cheaper or the same get the LS

Yeah your correct.I have a workmaster40 made by LS good solid machine.
