2013 Deere 4320 cab, 180 loader, 485 backhoe, 2021 Deere 1023e, Vermeer trencher, 2022 Deere 26g
Looking at replacing my open station 3320 with a new 4044r cab.

Anyone who owns ones or knows someone who does do you know of any problems with it. I seen a couple things about the loader having hydraulic problems. I am also looking at getting a 4in1 bucket for it.

I am still waiting on a price from the dealer, does anyone have prices that they might have paid for the same machine. The one i am looking at will two rear remotes and 3rd function.

I also was wondering if anyone had the 3rd fuction on the new 40xx series and if it controlled on the loader joystick.

I test drove one the other day I liked the machine and did not notice anything.

Thanks

You do know that you'll be getting into Tier 4 emissions with any new tractor?

My son test drove a 4044R and a 4066M late last Winter, it was cold outside. His Mother stayed inside and wanted to know if all that noise was coming form the those two tractors and we told her yes. Well she's lived her entire life on the full-time family farm and can drive and operate anything. She was like it's almost as noisy as the IH 686. She asked why they were so noisy but never got an answer. Just something you might want to consider. Got nothing against Deere, the 5065M, a Tier 3, on my sons farm has operated flawlessly so far and has 600 hrs on it, knock on wood.

Maybe they have done something quieten them down, these were some of the first off the assembly line.

I can live with it being tier 4. I dont need a tractor as big as a 5 series I dont have the room.
From the 5 tractors we looked at John Deere was the best for the noise level. The Mahndria 3040 was a close second, some of the other tractors we very loud like the farmall 45 and cabelas 45.

It would be nice if they listed the decibel levels at 2000rpms on the specs.

If you're even thinking about a Case IH or Cabela's in that range you might as well find an LS dealer, they made them. My son ended up buying an Interim Tier 4 MX5100, had to drive half way across the state to find one though. They are running them on hay sheds and barns a lot and didn't want to have it going into Regen. while running round bales or inside a hay shed with 300-400 bales in it. He liked some of the features the JD 4000R series had and he liked some features the Kubota Grand L60 had, I think both are good tractors but ended up with a more basic tractor. One feature Deere needs is the 2 speeds in each of the 3 ranges of their Hydro. Kubota needs fender mounted 3pt hitch controls. They all have one thing or another that the other one needs if you know what I mean.

How difference in price is the Mahindra vs. the Deere?

Don't have to worry about moving hay bales and getting stuck in a barn during regen, I could see that being a big problem. Mostly moving snow and property maintenance, sometimes use it on a job for my company.

I did not like the Case they got rid of the hydro transmission. Now it is a mix of hydro and shuttle you change forward reverse on the column and speed with a foot pedal. You have 3 ranges controlled by a switch. I would think the LS would be the same.

I wish John Deere would come out with a 2 speed for each range like the Kubota's that would be great.

I am waiting on the price for the John Deere but the Mahindra 3540 was at 39,200 plus tax for one with cab, 2 rear remotes and 3rd function. Missing alot of options compared to the JD though.

Cabela's was at 38,522 for the LM45 with the LD108 woods loader, two rear remotes and 3rd function. They also give you a $1000 gift certificate.

TYM was at $33,777.00 for the t554 with the same options. Quite a price difference for the same tractor but with more horsepower.

If it were me I would price out the 4044R and the 4066R at the same time. When I was shopping a few years ago I had to decide between the 4320, 4520 and 4720. I ended up with a 4520 and after 5 years of use glad I paid for the extra power and epto. There is a big difference in how much dirt I can move with the 4520 compared to the 110 in an hours time. Both using the same 84" box blade. Tilling with the two machines the 4520 is about 40% faster using a 72" tiller Deere 673. Today if I were buying again I would lean towards the 4066R over the 4044R. Just something to consider.

When the dealers get back to me this week I will ask them a price difference on the other two models. I think the one dealership had like 3 or 4 of the 4066 in stock. I might be able to get a better deal on a bigger tractor. Good point

The difference between 34.5 hp and 54 hp is huge when running pto equipment. You can run in the epto setting at the reduced speed of about 1750 rpms with the 4066R and do the same work as the 4044R running at the higher pto speed. When conditions are tough you can use the normal pto speeds and power through the jobs. I do a lot of tilling and box blade work with my tractors laser leveling fields and installing irrigation pipe. These small tractors can get lots of work done when used correctly.

I know I'm late to this conversation, and you may have already made your decision. I have a JD 4044R with almost every option / add-on that you can get with this tractor. I use it for moving large round bales, 1 ton bundles of horse feed, arena work, and most everything that one can imagine. I've had now for 5 months and the only thing it has not been able to handle is picking up the front end of my horse trailer which has a tonge weights of 4,200, ;( . Not bad for this "Utility Tractor" I have allowed the local dealer use it as a display model on numerous occasions and as a result they have made several additional sales, even they had no idea what this tractor was capable of. Don't hesitate to shoot me a private note if you have further question just in case you have not made a purchase yet.
