Kubota B7610
I have been researching compact and sub-compact tractors all of this year and thought I was close to making a decision and going with the Kioti CK20 hydrostatic until I've heard about compatibility issues with the MMM and backhoe (as well as getting the backhoe). I realize that the Kioti and BX23 are in different classes, but I feel the reason that they are commonly compared are because of the price similiarities, which is the main reason I'm comparing the two. The kioti can lift more with the FEL and 3 point, and has a stronger backhoe (if you can get one), but maybe for what I'll need it for, the BX would be fine. I have 3.5 acres and some mowing to do, also a lot of stumps that need to be removed. I have a long dirt driveway (about 1/5 mile) that is full of potholes that I would like to take a box scraper to, and other various tasks.

I would like to hear from people that have BX23s and if they ever run into situations where they wish they had more tractor. Also chime in with things that you have been able to accomplish with your BX that suprised you. I would like to think that it would be enough tractor, but I'm just not sure. Probably a choice only I can make but would love some input.

I have heard a lot from the Kioti guys and also wanted to give the Kubota clan a chance to give their input (seems only fair).

Thanks in advance...

John

I just inked a deal on a BX-23 about an hour ago. This is not my first compact, I had a Kubota B7500 in 2001. I have looked at all of the major brands, and have been very close to even signing on as a dealer for Kiotii, or importing the Jinma tractors. The key reason I keep coming back to Kubota is simple. Value for the dollar......that means price, as well as retained value. Needs sometimes change...mine did, I sold my original 63 acres and sold the B7500....moved to the city, lived there for a year and bought a 7 acre country estate. The market for used Kubotas is incredible, so if your needs change, you can either trade or sell and may not lose any money at all. There is a reason the Kioti tractors are painted orange, and styled like a Kubota. I pick up my BX23 on Saturday...hope it doesn't rain.

Godd luck with your choice

For the two jobs listed above you will appreciate the abilities of the larger tractor.

What size stumps are we talking about, and what kind of soil.

You don't say where you are from, but I can tell you that the BX22/23 can dig stumps, but if they are too large, you can't pick them up or for that matter even pull them out of the hole. I would say that anything larger than a 12" caliper, you won't be able to handle unless you have a bigger tractor to help you.

To me a tractor is for tractoring and a lawn tractor /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif is for mowing. That is why I have a Kioti tractor and an MTD 16.5 hydro lawn mower /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

I guess since some people don't have enough action on their forums they must stir things up on the forums of the real orange tractors...

I'm in New Hampshire. The soil is relatively dry but it's full of roots...

It is not nice to cause friction between a Kubota user using the Kubota forum and a Kioti user visiting the Kubota forum. He isn't trying to stir thing up, but rather offering his opinion. What is wrong with that? Isn't that what we all are here for? To learn from others and to share a diversity of opinion? As to your comment about Kubota being the "real" orange tractor, that can causes more problems than I care to mention. Both tractor brands are good, and, as with beauty, it is in the eyes of the beholder as to which is better. It is better not to start war, than to have others joining in and fight them. As far as I am concerned, GerardC is a welcome visitor to the Kubota Forums anytime. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

My suggestion would be for you to purchase the Kioti. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Great tractor and I know that you would be happier with it than a Kubota. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
