mf 165
I am going to get a new tractor, I think it will be between JD and new holland.
The dealer just called me with some prices. for a 5325 with a bucket loader 72 inch, 4WD, power reverse, 2 remotes, block heater, loader tires. $36,300.
He said that to go up a tier to the 5425 it would be a addtional $3000, with the same equipment.5325 is 55 HP at PTO engine of 65 HP
I do not think I would settle for the 5225 as I want to do a little more with the tractor PTO HP 45. I have a MF 165 and do not want to go down in HP only way to go is UP.
So the 5425 would be $39,300. I am in NY near cobleskill and for those of you who do not know this is 30 miles west of Albany.

What do you guys think of the price?

Price does not sounds too bad. I went with the 5525 cab power reverser 4wd, etc. Tractor was $41K My loader was expensive $9K. I added the 3rd valve with a grapple bucket the load stability system and a 542 SL loader.

Be aware that the 5425 is physically bigger then the 5225 and 5325. That might be a plus or a minus. I have to say I really like my 5525.

Sounds like your price is in the ballpark. I have the 5325 w/o loaded tires or block heater but I do have 3 mid SCVs(gets you the joystick), power-reverser, side exhaust, telescoping links, and Deere T shirt-cap combo. I have the loader, backhoe, and MX5 which brought the total package to $47K plus tax.

You can get the joystick with only 2 valves. The part that sucks is if you need the 3rd one, you basically can the other valve, etc. Oh well, I never figured I would get a grapple. The 3rd valve setup on the joystick rocks.

I asked the sales man last night, what the price jump in each tractor was as you never have enough HP. At least I do not. the 5225 is 56HP, the 5325
is 67HP, and the 5425 is 81HP. IT seems like the base number jumps $3000 with each increment of tractor size. So the $36,300 was for 5325, for about 30 dollars a month I can step into 81hp. I used the quikcalu to see what payments would be. I am willing to pay an extra $30 bucks a month for the jolt in power

You go boy - never can have enough power. What other options and accessories are you going to get?

I went last night to look at the JD but dealer ship was closed but I got to see tractors and see if I liked sitting on the open station. What a difference it makes to have an open station. Either it feels confortable or it does not and the open station was good. Like I said int he email I would like ower reverse and I think I would controls for 3 pt hitch on the top of the tractor and in the back. Also I want a Quik-Coupler, looks like it would easy to change implements alsong with have a quick release bucket for front to switch to forks.

Maybe the experts can help with this also......i'm torn between the 5525 and the 6403. For a couple dollars less I can get more hp and weight with the 6403, but how much features am I truely giving up against the 5 series...has anybody made the comparisons between the two.

May not matter to you but when I was looking a 6603 MFWD could not get a cab and loader together.
