Well, I'm a little late to the discussion as to which tractor to choose. I will offer my newbie opinion as to what your new tractor can help you accomplish, though. Our lot is 5 acres of dense, mature hardwoods. Some of these are in the 100' territory, over 30" in diameter.
I bought a DS3510 and have log skidded positively enormous oaks, hickories, birch and beech trees. They were stacked with a combination of the boom pole and bucket. The PTO runs my Wallenstein
chipper fine, though the
chipper has a propensity to clog;(
In all honesty, I do not wish or more power. There is a need for more traction, even with the loaded tires. The machine only has 50 hours, but has traversed some really rocky, uneven terrain while hauling and dragging very heavy loads. The best part about this machine is that it's incredibly nimble. It weaves in and out of areas where the larger tractors would need to constantly be backed up.
There's not much of a doubt in my mind that you won't find a way to get everything done with your new CK. Good luck and tractor safely!
