Been thinking about changing tractors as my allergies to diesel smoke have gotten worse and spending time on my JD 3720 is causing some misery.

One tractor i've started looking at is the DK6020SE as the size is quite similar to my Deere but the PTO HP and lift are greater. Physically larger in this case wouldn't yield much advantage and goes against the WAF.

The internet and YouTube being what they are i have heard of a few complaints and wondered how much merit they might have.

1 front axle issues- somewhere I saw an issue with bearings due to being undersized and the lift capability of the loader.- i got a chance to talk to a mechanic and he said that had been true of the CK but not DK

2. Joystick quality- have heard that simultaneous curl and lift operations are awkward- any experiences?

3. Cab ventilation- 2 areas- have seen complaints that fogging is had to avoid in the cold, and that the lack of rear opening side windows causes it to heat up a bunch in summer.

A couple of items I have general questions about are the locations and operation of the hydraulic controls (ergonomic or not?)and whether people have kept a cat2 hitch on a tractor that small?- ( I would want the optional extendable lower arms and was thinking of getting them in a cat 1)

Hoping to operate one soon, appreciate any responses.

Not sure if you heard anything, but I bought one in December 24:

1: front axle issues might actually be onto something, mine creak when lifting heavy loads, and I see lots of people saying the axle oil runs low constantly, mine is at 60 hrs, and can already tell it's lower.

2.) joystick is great, it's not awkward at all, but it is slow when doing both lift and curl, I haven't played with the speed of hydraulics yet because I haven't been annoyed enough yet

3.) cab ventilation is not an actual issue, I saw those complaints also, it does fog, but if you keep the temp nice in there and blowing it's fine, I was running the AC after heat in 10 degree weather because the cab gets warm. You just have to use your brain a bit, I think the videos on this were people who actually didn't try to fix the problem when it happened. I will admit, when it happened to me the first time I was wiping the windows and made it worse, just adjust the thermostat and you'll be fine.

I only have worked with cat1 stuff on mine, mainly a box blade, but I highly recommend you get a third function for the front if you buy it from the dealer before you pick it up... it's 900 bucks to buy the kit and 1500 from my dealer installed. My issue now is I'd have to transport it an hour to them to get it installed, I could have saved the headaches if I knew that back then.

I haven't run a lot of tractors, but have heavy machinery, this thing is powerful and can get where you need it to go, I'm in WV and live with a mountain in my backyard. The digging power of the loader does seem to need some help in my thick clay, I'm considering teeth or a stump bucket to help break up the earth better.

jcollins,
thanks for replying (was actually surprised to see one after this long)
D&D- thanks as well

Unsure whether i would do cat 1 or 2 arms - unlikely to really need 2 but many peeps are saying that spacers to reduce from 2 to 1 work great and there are no issues- if so I guess I would go 2 as there are more options later then

Nice to hear regarding the fogging and that the control from the joystick was fine- I wonder why the 2 function would be slow- understand it would need to be slower than 1 cylinder at a time but the rated flow seems fine- unless the cylinders are just plain big.

Saw one guys review lately where he complains about jerky 3 point lift when trying for precision.

37:00 or so for loader
40:00 for 3ph limiter and jerkiness

My 3 point is jerky too, I was just guessing I hadn't figured it out yet, but it could be related to something else. I haven't operated many tractors, but raising my box blade can get jerky sometimes for no apparent reason, it normally goes back to normal if you stop the operation and then start it again though.

I did play with it yesterday after replying, turning the hydraulic speed up does help with the 2nd function on the loader, but it's no where near as fast as excavators and backhoes I've operated while doing simultaneous operations
