I was looking closer a B2301 yesterday at dealer getting final numbers. A couple things I noticed seemed to be a concerned. One was the tranny screw on filter just off the rear axle. Looked pretty exposed to easy damage. Has this been a issue? I also noticed the fuel filter hanging outside the frame between the FEL arms and frame. Looked also very exposed to damage from sticks. Just seeing if either of these has been a issue.
Have a B2650, had a stick wedge into the hydrostat drive linkage. Had to turn tractor off and remove the problem. I've read posts of users brush hogging and a stick pushed on locking ring on loader hydraulic coupler. Hoses didn't fully disconnect, loader won't lower and problem not obvious unless purposely looking for it. If your looking at LA435 loader visit Messicks website. Also, adding rim guard to rear tires will make loader operation safer (ballast), improves traction by making tractor heavier.
I have a B2620 which is the older version of the B2x01 series.
Mine is used mostly for clearing woods and does a lot of grapple work, has almost 600hrs and no problems with the filters getting damaged, you just have to be smart about operating and don't treat it like a tank or bulldozer.
With the loader on the fuel filter has some protection, I have had stick get pushed up and jamb in the linkages before but no damage other then a dent in the main suction line back by the filter.
If you need more protection it's pretty easy to make a skid plate to protect the hyd. filters.
I guess it depends on how rough the land is where one plans on using such tractor. I've had three Kubotas (BX2660, B2620 and B2650), none of which have been damaged in use. I did add a skid plate to the BX however due to the fan location. Rough wooded rocky ground could add a lot of hazards.
Cheers,
Mike
