Looking for 12 volt fuel pump for diesel

Some of the external tanks I have seen have a tag saying not to connect permanently to a vehicle tank. Is there some sort of law against doing this?
There is a law against hooking any kind of gravity feed system from a bulk tank into your vehicle, valved or otherwise just for the reason that if valve failure occurred, it could overflow the tank.

Can you not run a gravity feed through a furnace fuel filter, into a electric fuel pump (switched) and out of that through another fuel filter and then to the injection pump? Pump not running, no fuel moves.
You just need to remember to turn the electric pump on BEFORE starting the truck. I used a Holley racing pump on one truck with that same configuration.

There's a mr gasket diesel fuel transfer pump out there. However, I've had this done in the last several trucks and in my new one I didn't plumb it in. I have zero problems now. It seemed like I was always dealing with some headache related to it on my other trucks. Also, when getting fuel from the bottom of the tank your going to be getting the nasty contaminated stuff. I fill my truck up off my slip tank but it gets filtered again thru a water/fuel filter also. I know the convenience but there are a lot more negatives than positives to me. Also, if you forget to turn the pump off, it will make a huge mess

Also what year is your truck? Some newer trucks if you feed extra fuel to the tank directly the computer thinks its got a problem and will shutdown or at least go into a self preservation mode. I.e. my gm dmax will go into limp mode unless the computer knows how many gallons the tank holds.

It is a 2015 f250. I fill it up while it is running all the time. Not sure what the difference would be.

I think this would work fine on an older truck but not sure if it would work so well on my computer controlled truck. I think my safest bet is to pump it into the tank.
