Broadcast granular fert preplant. And we used an 8 row liquid applicator for one application after the corn got a foot tall. It is a pull type unit that the co-op supplied to its customers. Applied 100 units of n-solution.

I gotcha I figured it out after I asked now the liguid nitrogen is that the way to go once its a foot tall I thought I'm sandy soil you'd do it twice about 4" then when it touches the tractor axle? Also how many pound of fert per acre are we talking about spreading I could do it with a normal three point spreader couldn't I? And your coop supplied the nitrogen tank and implement to put it in the ground your saying?

Haha yeah seems like broadcasting may be wasting fertilizer but **** it's there probably last 2 or three years ain't nothing a soil sample won't tell you. Basically what I plant to do which this will be my first year is I plan to kill everything with round up spread fertilizer plant corn and soy beans I guess fert again if needs and let it grown harvest and do it again

Good plan. Soil sample every year so you know exactly what your dealing with.

The soul sample tells you how much to fertilize correct what's the lime for also. And how do you know how much nitrogen to put in once the corn is 1 foot tall

Co-op supplied everything. And with the granular fert you will run youself ragged with a 3ph spreader and go broke buying bags. Get fert in bulk mixed exactly like soil sample says and use a pull type spreader buggy. Dont forget the " micronutrients" like sulfur, zinc, etc.

I gotcha we are talking 100 acres which is pretty good sized to start out I may do 50 to start with wonder what the best sized spreader wagon would be for me and just say my 5000 if I don't end up with the 1086

I might should keep the 5000 for stuff like fertilizer spreading shouldn't I they do make some big three point spreaders tho and I wouldn't buy it by the bag I'd do a small dump truck load

The IH or CaseIH planters starting with the 800 are all no-till! They come standard with equipment for notill that could add up to 1,000. dollars per row on a deere planter to make them equal. They are a steal often because of the deere's planters presumed abilities.
