Hello all-
I am looking for a 5' x 16' bumper-tow open trailer (or other 16' long open trailer with 82" or less overall width). The way my lot is laid out, the only way I can get behind the house is through the back garage door which is only 82" wide. I have found several 5 x 14' that would work, but I would really like a 16 footer. Wondering if anyone ran across such a trailer? I would be using it to haul light loads from different auctions and my little GC with FEL and a 4' RC so 2600 net cargo capability (typical of a 3500 GVRW trailer) would be fine but heavier would be okay too.
Appreciate any input (other than 'make the door wider'- not an option!)

I would talk directly to a manufacturer or a good trailer dealer. It shouldn't be much more to add 2' to a 5x14 trailer.

Anyone think I will have trouble towing this setup- narrow and long(ish)?

It all depends on how you load it. If you are at load it right should be ok. I would watch your COG and maybe get short sidewall tires as the COG will be higher on that trailer than it would be on a "normal" one, hence more sway and a higher possibility of a rollover.
Edit: Will you be able to fit your tractor on a 60" wide trailer deck with the mower on? If not, you might see if they could start with a deckover snowmobile type trailer (short wheels) and make that 74-78" wide rather than 110"

I am sure you could have it built but its a trailer that only you will want. There will be virtually no resale value on it.

Having a trailer that size that can not haul a CUT tractor, car, pickup, ect is pretty much worthless to 99% of the population.

If its what you want and plan on keeping it forever go for it. If not, modify the door now and save yourself the headaches. Yes, I read that you do not want to modify the door.:confused2:

Anywhere else to put a gate, even if it meant driving through the yard every once in awhile.
