( I have a 2210 JD and am in need of recomendations for a nice (but economical) 3 point hitch type sprayer, preferably on that can both boom spray and/or wand spray. Not for heavy or prolonged use )
Basically, all sprayers are made up of components available from manufacturers such as Tee-Jet. Other than the "carrier" and the boom, they are all very simular.
I farm. We contract MOST of our spraying. I have a Hahn sprayer with 60' boom. I NEEDED a smaller one for spot-spraying.
Solution...? A Fimco 55 gallon unit from TSC. I added the wand kit, a better pressure guage, and Tee-Jet 10PSI "check-valve" nozzle bodies. (That latter cuts off flow when line pressure drops below 10PSI to prevent "dribbling" after the pump has been shut down.
I've got less than $800, pump and all, in a very good little sprayer.
If you plan on using Glyphosate (Round-Up) , liquid nitrogen fertilizers, or any fungasides, take precautions to keep the pump "oiled" when not in use. (VERY corrosive materials)
The same unit is available through Agri-Supply, at a slightly reduced price, but you then have shipping to contend with.
