I have a 2210 JD and am in need of recomendations for a nice (but economical) 3 point hitch type sprayer, preferably on that can both boom spray and/or wand spray. Not for heavy or prolonged use

Look to Agri-Supply, Northern Tool or Tractor Supply. All three companies offer small and relatively inexpensive sprayers. You'll probably find the most economical to be pull behind units. For a 3pt unit you may want to look at buying a "carry all" and simply strapping the sprayer to it, you can use the carry all for other purposes when not using the sprayer.

Here is a link to the current Agri-Supply catalog. The first several pages contain various models of sprayers. I have the 25 gallon one with a wand and I built a small carryall type platform to carry it around.

Ditto on the carry all. Go to this thread to read an identical discussion about 3ph sprayers. When scrolling you will find good info. about the benefits of using a carry all with strap on tank.

Basically, all sprayers are made up of components available from manufacturers such as Tee-Jet. Other than the "carrier" and the boom, they are all very simular.

I farm. We contract MOST of our spraying. I have a Hahn sprayer with 60' boom. I NEEDED a smaller one for spot-spraying.

Solution...? A Fimco 55 gallon unit from TSC. I added the wand kit, a better pressure guage, and Tee-Jet 10PSI "check-valve" nozzle bodies. (That latter cuts off flow when line pressure drops below 10PSI to prevent "dribbling" after the pump has been shut down.

I've got less than $800, pump and all, in a very good little sprayer.

If you plan on using Glyphosate (Round-Up) , liquid nitrogen fertilizers, or any fungasides, take precautions to keep the pump "oiled" when not in use. (VERY corrosive materials)

The same unit is available through Agri-Supply, at a slightly reduced price, but you then have shipping to contend with.

forgot to ask, where does one get a carry all?

A carry all is available at Northern Tool, Agri Supply or TSC. You may also find one at your local tractor dealership who stocks a lot of implements.

agri supply has them for like 100

This is a bad pic of mine but this holds my sprayer, boom and hose reel on top of my box blade. Just a simple L channel frame.

Most TSC stores have them. Or you could build one yourself. Do a search here for Carryall. There was a recent thread on building one.
