Actally someone here on TBN was just saying that Cat 400 series, Case 580 series and John Deere 210,310,410 series are actually available in an AG configuration. I do not know this for a fact, only what was said here, oh and that they were very expensive.

Brian,
The closest crossover I can think of would be the Deere 210 LE landscape loader with a 3 pt top n tilt hitch. I think this is one of the few Deere tractors that it is easy to have multiple rear remotes on. This is a high priced unit though. Case used to offer a 480 series landscape loader similar to the Deere 210 don't know if it is a current model.

Steve, I think that the Case equivalent of JD 210 is the 570. One of these days I will stop by the Case dealer and try to verify the AG thing on these tractors.

Got a reply from dealers in china, interesting. No middle man=no setup and all the import problems. However, lots of GOOD info.
All the larger tractors, 60+ hp are turbo Perkins 1004 TRT75 sires engines. More on that later**.
Foton has their own line of FEL and backhoes. From the photos, the FEL looks to be sturdy with a massive sub frame running from the rear axle to the front of the tractor using box tubing, with three attachment points, rear axle, bell housing and front frame. 2-1/2 to 3,400 pound lift and 4,000 pounds breakaway, replaceable bronzes bushings.
Some of the loaders have a two piece bucket that acts like a claw.
The backhoe also looks to be well made, and there is the question of compatibility with a cab.
Now how much is sizzling and no stake? What痴 the track record of the Foton implements?
Model numbers are confusing, what is the difference between the F700, F705 and the F705R when all the descriptions are identical?

Why is it that the Fotons look very much like a better made model Jinma?
** I see there is a hint that china may be knocking off copies of Perkins engines.
The 70 hp engine is really the 80 hp down rated to meet the EPA?

I also see mention of the German made clutch pack on the European dealer sites and Korean implements.
The transmission options are full 10 speed gear with/without creeper, gear with shuttle-shift and HST.
Lots depend on the target market and dealer, North America or Europe.

That is why I ask specific questions.

.

This capacity is actually not very good for the size of tractor that you are looking at. I still think that you should look at some other brands, at least look to see what the other guys have for capabilities.

This could be a deal breaker. Will the real Perkins engine stand up?

Perkins Chinese Engines

Other international companies are running into the same issues in China. They get contracts, tooling and knowledge and get into the knock off business. They are open about it often because they see nothing wrong with it.

The Perkins china fallout was in 2006. I see many Foton dealers stating that the 2010 tractors, 60+ hp are Perkins engines in the 1000 series. Maybe the knockoff issue has been settled?

Perkins technology Lovol engines

Tianjin Lovol Engines Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Lovol Engines) is a modernization manufacturing enterprise of engines, which was established on the basis of Sino-British Joint-Venture Perkins Engines (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.
...
With the gradual execution of strategic adjustment of the company, the change-over work for the company¨s name and LOGO starts synchronistically and rapidly, former "Tianjin Perkins" has been upgraded to "Lovol Engines" all-sidely.

The smaller tractors have engines from various domestic makers, such as LIJIA, XINCHANG, QUANCHAI, ZHEJIANG XINCHAI. However the larger tractors as mentioned above have four- and six- cylinder engine models numbering in the 1000 series, with roots from the previous mentioned joint venture with Perkins.

The engine is just one part of a tractor, several choices exists for the smaller models. As an example the Foton FT404 comes in both 3- and 4-cylinder models, which is easy to differentiate on pictures, since the four cylinder model is two decimeter longer and hence needs a 20 cm hood extension.

Even the Xinchai C490BT engine model in our FT404 is based on European knowledge, here's the intro from the engines service manual:

With the help of technical consultations from Ricardo UK Ltd and Austrian AVL Company, 490B series diesel engines are jointly developed by our company and Shanghai Internal Combustion Engine Research Institute.

I can tell that this engine is exceeding our expectations in terms of power, fuel consumption, low emissions, and starts easy even in a cold Nordic weather climate.

I can imagine access to western engine technology is vital for exports to our countries, not to mention the individual reglements for safety and environment. The sales volume for the smaller tractors are huge, compared to the largest ones. However, when making large investments, the price of the individual tractor maybe is a lesser factor.
