To everyone that has replied to my questions, thank you very much. I have been doing my homework for sure, (ask my wife she thinks I've replaced her on the priority list with my tractor search) Where her wanting a 2nd bathroom addition is what started the whole thought process of getting one in the first place. Well today I visited my local Bobcat dealer and got to check out their baby of the bunch the CT122 which is a machine that bridges the gap as an in between size of the sub compacts and the compacts. It is in everyway a compact model in a sub compact sized package. It functions almost identical to the sub compacts including the quick disconnecting of the attachments, but is built for a more continuous duty of a contractor or farmer and the price new isn't much more than the BX25 and the same price as the cub cadet sc2450, considering it is a heavier duty machine. so far this one is at the top of my picks but trying to find a pre-owned one in my area is going to be close to me hitting a lottery jackpot. The dealership was very good to talk with and very helpful towards me as well. I am still going to chek out the Massey GC2410 this Thursday and will be comparing it to the Bobcat.

Hey Kev, When checking out the MF GC2410, check out the 3 items that stood out for me, it was more comfortable for my large frame, the 3 pt. hitch stays on when not in use(BH use) and the BH bucket is twice as large than some. Dealer is also so important.

As been said many times, you can't go wrong with any of them. Good Luck!

Yesterday I checked out the Massey GC2410, and was very impressed with this units construction over the kubota BX models. Everything was placed comfortably or easily accesible, The attachments were heavy duty (They are made in the states solely for Massey and no other Manufacturers according to the dealer) It may not be as heavy duty as the Bobcat CT 122, but until I can touch and feel one of those, I can not accurately comment. The Massey dealer was the first out of all of them to offer to take it out of the show room so I could go play with it on the property. Plus he gave me a beeter price than the new BX25 price I got. I am strongly leaning for the Massey now. I will give the Bobcat dealer another call to see if he got any inventory in for me to check out, and I have a quote request into Kioti that I am waiting for as well, and then I'll make my final choice.

Thank you all very much for the input and assistance.

From all of the questioning and reseach for all of the various brands of Sub Compact machines, there is not one system that is made in the USA!! There might be one or two that are assembled here in the US but the components are all made over seas for the physical tractors. The attachments (loaders, Backhoes, mowing decks etc ) some are made in the USA!

Tour of Kubota KMA manufacturing plant in Georgia

Watch this video at Messicks.com. You might be surprised just how much of the BX is actually made in the US. It is far more than merely assembled. The US content in them is much higher than one might imagine.

I believe the Massey is made in Japan by Iseki. The current John Deere and the Cub are both made in Japan by Yanmar. The Kioti / Bobcat is built in South Korea by Daedong (I think). There are some 1,200 people in Gainesville, Ga. that are thoroughly convinced that they are building Kubota BXs. Kubota has another facility in Gainesville where thay assemble a variety of different models shipped in kit form from Japan.

Thanks, BP, for posting that video link. As for Mr Kevko, my feedback on the BX2660 is that I'm well pleased with its performance. Although it's only about two years old with 160 hrs, it is amazing to me what all it does so well. I started shopping from scratch with little background in "tractors". After looking at a couple local brands and dealers, the Kubota was my choice. Good luck on your choice.

My JD2520 is made in Japan by Yanmar, but the backhoe, front blade and box blade are made here in the USA and the loader is made in Mexico. By value, almost half of my purchase came from the US or Mexico.

Hmmmm Another thought now comes to mind with most of the machines made in Japan and everything going on over there with radiation and being crippled from the earthquake, what is that effect going to have on parts and service to the dealers in the states for maintaining sold equipment manufactured from there once their inventory runs out?? Will parts still be available and manufactured. Things may be ok for now, but somewhere down the road in the not so distant future Japan's natural disaster will have effect on things. How will it effect tractors?
