I've been trying game cams for videos and the old version 1 Stealth cam is the only one that I would rate as satisfactory. It lasted 6 years before giving up and everything I've tried since then in the $100-$150 range has had problems. Most of them work pretty well for still photos but videos are a problem.
I think that the camera companies are focusing more on the higher end models that will link to a smart phone or computer and I'm not interested in that. All that I want is a camera that will give reasonably clear 30 second videos and have external battery capabilities to get away from the cost of lithium batteries.I check my cameras every day and only use them for the entertainment value of seeing what is going through our property. So far I've seen one mountain lion, one weasel, several raccoons,2 fox, hundreds of coyotes,a lot of bobcats, and some interesting birds.
My neighbor has become interested also and between us we have tried pretty much everything out there in the under $150 price range and none have worked for us.
Spend a little more and get a Browning Spec Ops;I have three and going to purchase more.Amazing cameras.I have been at it for a while, my first game camera took 35 mm film!Tried most of the others and no comparison.
