Looking for game camera suggestions

I've been trying game cams for videos and the old version 1 Stealth cam is the only one that I would rate as satisfactory. It lasted 6 years before giving up and everything I've tried since then in the $100-$150 range has had problems. Most of them work pretty well for still photos but videos are a problem.

I think that the camera companies are focusing more on the higher end models that will link to a smart phone or computer and I'm not interested in that. All that I want is a camera that will give reasonably clear 30 second videos and have external battery capabilities to get away from the cost of lithium batteries.I check my cameras every day and only use them for the entertainment value of seeing what is going through our property. So far I've seen one mountain lion, one weasel, several raccoons,2 fox, hundreds of coyotes,a lot of bobcats, and some interesting birds.

My neighbor has become interested also and between us we have tried pretty much everything out there in the under $150 price range and none have worked for us.

Spend a little more and get a Browning Spec Ops;I have three and going to purchase more.Amazing cameras.I have been at it for a while, my first game camera took 35 mm film!Tried most of the others and no comparison.

I had a Moultrie 990i bought in 2013 and it was always out in the elements. Not long after the IR filter would stick and found it was a common problem. Eventually it stopped sticking but about 3 years ago it only shot in black and white day or night. A few months ago it failed completely.

Bought one of these about 6 months ago from amazon.

Foxelli Trail Camera – 20MP 1080P HD Wildlife Scouting Hunting Camera with Motion Activated Night Vision, 120° Wide Angle Lens, 42 IR LEDs & 2.4” LCD screen, IP66 Waterproof Game Camera, SD card incl.

was a sale deal ($39.95) now priced at $69.95 ea including 16 gig sd card. ( I have 6 assorted brabded ones now. This has been the best)
The pics and video are set on the best settings and are great quality. It takes 8 AA batteries and I havnt replaced any yet on this camera.
While we were gone a few weeks ago it caught my neighbor bringing in a guy with a rented excavator. They cleared quite an area on both sides of the easement road without any permission. The video setting on the camera was for two minute shots and got quite a bit of information. The rental company logo, the operators face, my neighbor helping him and a clear shot of the operators truck and license plate.
The camera paid for itself many times over. Just ordered two more on another $39.95 sale. Even at $70.00 it is a good camera.
Hey.... its Amazon. If you dont like it send it back.
I have another brand 20MP game camera... not as good pics or videos and 8 batteries lasted just over 6 weeks.

You dont have to spend a lot of money .... Just find one that works for you

Rebeldad thats the same style of camera i show blown appart by its own battery springs. I would make **** sure they updated the battery case before droping $140 on two cameras that could be bricks in another 6 months.

And the link to this?

can you post a link to this?

Are you saying the more expensive trail cameras dont use the springs?
were the batteries installed correctly?
were they using ni-cad batteries? rechargeables?
were they using standard akaline batteries?

Thanks
