I have a new ex3200 and am wondering what transmission/hydraulic oil I can use in this tractor.

The only specs I found were for Cub Cadet Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid to be used.

They don't give the fluids weights or specs or anything.

Anybody know what other fluid I can put inthere that is cheaper than $18/gallon that cub wants?

Thanks all.

I'm gonna' take a wild guess that standard old HyTran fluid is what's needed; we'll wait for some of the experts to chime in.

That's just wrong... What if you're out in the middle of nowhere, and don't have access to a CC dealer?? :confused2:

I might go straight to Deere, they are everywhere, and buy their best. Hear tell that Deere doesn't over price it either. I might do that.

Broke down and got the 5 gallon pickle bucket of Cub Cadet hyrostatic Plus tranny oil. It is what they say it runs the best on.

$80 plus $10 shipping.

Yanmar specs TF-500 Hydo oil. I'm also looking for a cross ref. to any other brand.

They want a monopoly on the products you use, thats why many will not tell you what it is. Thats the trend with most all equipment makers. They realize they can boost thier lubes sales and increase profits by keeping what to use a secret. Then they charge high prices for mediocre lubes that are no better that what you could have purchased at the local co-op. This has spured many specialty lube companies just to supply products to these oem's. John Deere has one, Polaris has another, Harley-Davidson and on and on. These companies show the oem's how they can make them money by doing it all from blending to packaging and wareshousing and shipping to dealers. All the oem has to do is give the product a unique name that cannot be cross-referenced, then set the price high so the consumer will think is the best product for his tractor or ATV.

Fyi - Cub Cadet lubes are from one such company in IL called Viscosity Oil
