Are the service manuals any better in quality than the owner's manuals? For instance, my owners manual states that the transmission uses 80W oil when I'm fairly certain (as per the dealer) it actually requires hydraulic fluid. Not to mention the broken English - Some sentences are comical.
Lastly, I've got a 2545 Shuttle. Is that the same as 2545 Gear? If it isn't I can't find my tractor listed in the parts finder.
I don't know how the manuals are for the India built tractors but the owners AND service manuals 2500 and 2600 Korean (TYM) built ones are a joke like you say. The service manual leaves A LOT to be desired.
To answer your question, if your tractor is an HST then it would use Hydraulic oil.
This is one of my favorite discrepancies....engine oil in the 2655 manual. Lists all the weights by temperature range and then says to use Mahindra 15W-40 which isn't listed for any of the temperature ranges.
