Looking for manuals or info on Essick One Ton Vibratory Road Roller.

Just arrived home with an Essick One Ton Vibratory Road Roller purchased at the city auction. It has not been run in 10 years. I removed the main drive chain to move it.

The listing said it has motor trouble, the Wisconsin is not locked up. Found 2 spare plugs on the machine but I think weather took care of any useful evidence.

The data plates are hard to read. Found an add for a similar machine on the internet. An Essick RT30. Mine came with the trailer.

The data plates are hard to read. I am going to try making some rubbings off them tomorrow.

Correction to model number. It is a VR30RE. Motor is a Wisconsin AENL maybe AENLO.

Thinking that should be a AENLD. Changed the oil today. Pulled the spark plug and it is a new one. Tried jumping the starter/generator to a battery and no joy. Tomorrow I will buy a rope and see if it will fire up with a gas spray or starting fluid.

Rod I am attaching the parts, operating, and maintenance manuals for the VR30RE.

They made one major change in the unit over its production run. The earlier machines uses rubber blocks on the front drum axles to isolate the body from the shaking drum. The older ones did not. The problem is that the rubber on these early machines will fail if you drive the machine. I have come up with a temporary fix or work around but I would vibrate the drum using it. I have a blog on my efforts to get my machine running Essick VR3RE Vibratory Roller

I fixed one side on mine a drove it long enough to make this video and noticed that the other rubber isolation mount was failing when I parked it on its carrier.
