Looking for my first chainsaw: Stihl MS251 or Jonsered 2255?

Well ... I appreciate all the advice fellas. I ended up ordering a Dolmar 5105-20" ... $455 shipped, includes a case also. Now just the wait, but hopefully it gets here by Wednesday.

Hopefully it holds up and cuts as well as all the reviews I've seen. Seems to be a very popular saw in Europe, especially the Britts. After reading some UK posts, sounds like Makita did rebadge the 5105. It's called the DSC5303 (DCS stands for Dolmar ChainSaw)... but they were hard to find here and cost about $100 more than the Dolly (apparently that's what the Britts call the Dolmar saws).

The other 2 saws looked like great saws too. In the end, I can afford ONE saw right now, so a 50cc "pro" quality saw makes sense. And, I just couldn't overlook value of the Dolmar.

Lol, see, I am not the only one who thought it was red. I look forward to seeing yours Mr TSO!!! I just KNEW you couldn't get a stihl. It was out of the equation from the beginning.

Well naturally ... u have a Stihl, no way I could get one too! Otherwise, how could we keep a competitive debate alive, like our Ford vs Chevy, Massey vs Kubota, Hustler vs Scag, Redmaxx vs Shindaiwa, and now Dolmar vs Stihl !

Well, I try to help the debate ( even though it's too late for the saw) Husky saw , redmax blower, marayama trimmer, toro zero turn, and it's Dodge vs the world.. Hope this helps settle the debate:thumbsup:

Yeah, me and Mr Tim have numerous similarities but he loves to buy competitive brands. He does his homework though (even more than I do) which is what makes it fun. It always pushes me to learn more. However, these days I feel the more I learn, I forget twice that. I don't get it.

Now you are dodge vs the world and Tim and I are Ford vs. Chevy. If you want a nuclear war, say the word "Toyota" I dare ya.... Lol :-0

Tim thinks I am a GM guy although I think a ford for the wife is in the near future.

I thought Dolmars are red too but sometimes I see colors differently than other people:laughing:

The Dolmar is not quite red, or orange. It's kind of in between. Good saw though...
