Buying Advice Looking for reviews and prices for a Ford 3000

I am looking at buying a Ford 3000 for brush hogging 5 to 15 acres in N. Texas area. I was wondering if anyone has any information pro or con on the tractor? What should I look for when I look at one? Is there a history of any problems with tractor? What would be a normal price for one in average shape? Also one that been painted and rebuilt, with new tires. Not a mechanic.

My personal preferences are ones with power steering and diesel. Drive it looking for excessive wear on the steering bushings and arms. Look straight at the front end to see how the tires sit which can indicate bearing wear. Look for excessive smoke and blow by. Ask history and maintenance. Good units around here bring north of 5K. Low hours are not an indication of overall condition but possible condition. Gassers are typically 1K lower in price. Good tractors that are in demand and have great parts support.
