I took the advice on the other thread...i drilled holes in my hydro dipstick below the safe mark, and filed cross hatch cuts in the dipstick above the safe mark. I can read it now, believe it or not...took just a few minutes to do...

I wonder if there would be any ill effects if a small amount of red food dye were introduced. There wouldn't be any grit to mess with the hydro pump, but I don't know if anything else could become a problem. A little red food dye goes a LONG way. John

I bet with all the other trash in that runs thru the pump a drop or two of food dye wouldn't hurt.....but I will let you try it first....haha /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hey John, try my idea of a slight dusting of talcom powder. It works! I'd rather have a micro gram of baby powder in the tranny than food dye.
