Looking for zero-turn mower advice.

I'm on my third summer with my JD 997 diesel. It takes about 5 minutes to get used to operating it. I can mow my yard in about half the time it took with a compact tractor. The engine sips fuel and doesn't have any problems running the 72" deck. If you waant a diesel mowing machine I'd recommend the JD 997.

I second the 997. Ours is one year old and the wife is the main driver. Our property
has a hefty slope front-to-back. The 997's diesel pulls the ZTR without breaking
a sweat. And we mulch using Gators; the Yanmar has more than enough muscle
to drive the 72" deck and gives a nice cut.
