Looking into Yanmar

Raybender,

Thank you so much, the answer is yes is covered by the new warranty. I believe when they changed to the 10 years some of the prior sales were also covered.
I imagine the maintenance is not that bad, seem like all is so simple not sure if is tricking me. The dealer is offering me the 359 Open for 29250.00. I may have some change to buy more implements. What would you do?

Thank you so much for your time.
The cab vs ROPS/open to me depends on your climate and what you want to do. I spend a lot of time in the woods, and would not want a cab. (I run into too many things as it is). I also have a place to park the tractor that is out of the elements. ROPS seats are wet after a rain.

Winters in upstate NY are cold, but I just dress for it and in the woods it never seems as windy as it does in the open fields. I do not use my tractor for snow clearing. Our summers are not hot enough to me to necessitate A/C. However, if I was doing a lot of field work "south" of here, A/C could be very welcome. Similarly, if I was doing snow removal "north" of here, an enclosed cab would make that chore more enjoyable.

You are in the best position to understand whether your circumstances lead you to one over the other.

I mostly agree with ray but if you intend on doing any type of "dusty" or field work with high "pollen" counts you would certainly love the cab of the 359. That was one of the main reasons I moved to a cab. I got tired of having to wear a respirator when doing hay or haylage. The transmission is the main plus on these tractors. You will love it! The only complaint I have is that I had been spoiled by A. Carraro tractor and the "osilation" function that allowed the two half's of the tractor, (engine and frame front, rear transmission and frame rear) to "twist" when going over rough terrain due to a bearing assembly between the halfs. So smooth. The solid rear axle and limited swing of the front axle on the Yanmar makes for a rough ride on terrain that is bumpy or has humps, small hills, etc.

I don't own or at the moment expect to buy a new Yanmar but I still look once on a while.

My first Tractor was a Yanmar 2450, a little guy but it had power to spare, it had a great HST Trams, and you could **** on the fly when entering a pile of dirt or debris, or just wanting more power from a lower gear.

I sold her, mistake, but I thought I wanted something bigger, got a Mahindra Max28, larger chassis, 4 more HP- Not a big but... !

At first I thought I like the Mahindra but as time went on the Mahindra would fall on its face where the smaller Yanmar would march forward. The Mahindra would run out of steam on a hill and I would need to stop to shift to low range where the Yanmar would shift on the fly and not loose the forward movement.

The little 24 HP Diesel worked it heart out for me and I sold her but will always have a spot in the old ticker for her and the Yanmar brand.

IF I need or just decide to buy another Tractor IT WILL BE A YANMAR !

I like Yanmar !
