If you are looking to save the tax money you probably will not. Any savings in tax will be offset by higher prices in New England.

I can second the recommendation for Emerich's, I purchased a BX23 from them and took delivery a couple weeks ago. I live in south western CT. Very pleasant experience. We did everything via email and a couple phone calls including hooks on bucket, lights, etc. and everything worked out perfectly. Delivery was great, they took plenty of time with me, dropped the bucket, the BH, mower, etc. If I have a question response time via email is only a few minutes. And of course, pricing was awesome.

I am assuming that you are trying to avoid buying in NY to avoid their sales tax. I know they have one and that it is higher than MA, CT or VT. I live in MA but unfortunately can't recommend any dealers in MA because I bought my BX23 in NH for the same reason. If you feel like taking a trip to NH try Chappell Tractor in Milford. I talked with Emerichs and another place in PA ( whose name I cannot remember at the moment but could lookup if you want it) and both Emerichs and the place in PA had better prices than Chappells' but I wanted that dealer connection and was willing to pay a few hundred extra $$ for it.

I just bought the BX2230 from Chappell. If you have a competing offer they try to get pretty close to it. It worked out well for me since I also got $1,000 trade in for my Husqvarna 1542XP.
On the otherhand they are very busy right now so do not expect a lot of hand holding on your decision process. When I showed up they took me over to the tractor, talked me through the controls and left me to drive around their yard. When I was done I showed them my best offer and they came within $400 of it. They did not charge extra for the grab hooks on the bucket, filled tires, or delivery.
The Kubota 36 month 0% financing locked the deal for me.
