Looking to buy a blower for my Kitoti DK50

You may want to refresh your pricing ..... I contacted Reist and they sent me to their Utah affiliate and I asked them what a 72" 1000 would cost with hydraulic chute and rotation, and the guy asks "are you sitting down?"..... and I am thinking.... well....maybe it's a little more expensive.... and the guy comes back and says $15k- not including shipping from Utah. Sounds like a great machine, but it's too rich for my blood. If it were around $4k, I'd consider it, but $15k is out of the question. Looks like I may take a look at the woodmax 84"

The Utah dealer was looking at a huge markup that is why you were given the price he gave you!!!!!!!!!

You might want to call them back in Elmira, Ontario, Canada as the series 1000 has a 20 inch snow blower rotor not a 24 inch snow blower rotor. Whoever you talked to made a mistake in giving you that price as that is what a 2000 series unit was priced at with the bells and whistles.

You should have asked to purchase it directly from them its much less money if you have the dollars in your hands as your canadian sales tax is refunded at the border crossing station and your US dollars have a better exchange rate which translates in to spending less money on a single stage snow blower.

If anything find out who the Riest dealers are in British Columbia and Alberta and as if they will ship you a unit from Manitoba.

The 48 inch series 1000 with the 6 inch wings and manual rotation was $4,000.00 Canadian loonies this year.

I went through this creating a cost report for the series 1000 with manual rotation with the actual canadian retail cost plus the sales tax then deducted what the currency exchange rate would be per dollar and further cut the cost down with the candian sales tax refund of 8%.

You will have no issues buying it across the border and having it shipped to you.

So for what the UTAH dealer wants for this single stage you could buy an 8 foot Pronovost TRC model with the rotating impeller drum but you need 3 remotes for your mule or two remotes and a diverter.

Find out who the dealers are in Manitoba and Alberta and call them before you buy that chinese made machine.

Coyote machine do you have any pictures of your HLA plow, and who made it or who do you recommend. I'm looking for something to help with all the lake effect snow we get here, I was looking at 3 point snowblowers, but I'm no sold on anything yet.

The main advantage to a snow blower is it moves the snow several feet from where you're clearing. A plow just, as can be expected, moves it to the side.
In Vermont, we can expect a lot of snow over the course of the season...quite often, totaling several feet

I have a plow on the front, blower on the 3PH

So, IMHO...it depends on how much snow you typically get in your area...

I live in the snow belt here in Ohio and we get a lot of lake effect, couple feet at a time is nothing. Appreciate the info I'll look more at the snow blowers, I have been looking at everything attachments snowblower I just don't know very much about them. The single stage two stage etc?

Living near lake tahoe, we usually get adorned with really wet, sloppy snow which in most cases causes normal snow blowers to quickly clog up. On my Honda blower, I added some HDPE in the chute and that helped a lot. Does anyone know of any 3 point snow blower manufacturer who SHIPS their units with either UHMW or HDPE already custom fit to the interiors of the blowers? It would seem like a no-brainer to design a blower where the snow has no opportunity to stick to the metal. All the other factory modifications are moot in my eyes, if the snow STICKS to the interior metal of the blower. Thoughts? Recommendations of 84" blowers for REALLY DRIPPY wet snow?

I can without a doubt recommend Woodmaxx, I have the SB60, bought it a year ago. However any snowblower will have a hard time with heavy wet snow. I use a combination of snowblower with loader-loader using edge tamers.

A single stage snow thrower with your mules power size will be able to handle your snows with the power you have.

With the Canadian dollar being weak you will get more for your US dollar in value and the 13% Ontario sales tax is refunded to you at the border as long as you tell them it is for personal use only.
If you pay by credit card they do all the exchange rate and sales tax work for you and you simply have to present the receipt to the Canadian border agent for proof of purchase.

The Canadian to loonie to US dollar exchange rate is as of 1:41 PM EST $1.32 Canadian dollars to $1.00 US dollar.
SO its a win, win, win.

Single stage snow throwers like the Riest Series 1000 which has a five foot cut and 20 inch diameter snow blower rotor.
This snow thrower has gathering wings that are welded to the snow thrower.
These single stage snow throwers have a chain drive system that rotates the snow blower rotor at 700 RPM through a 1 to one gearbox that is attached to a cross shaft and the drive sprocket and the roller chain is tensioned with a torflex brand rubber tensioning arm.

The chain is easily repaired or replaced by accessing the access door on the left hand side of the snow thrower.

The Series 1000 like its larger siblings the series 2000 and 3000 thousand single stage units have no shear pins or gear box in the center of the snow blower rotor to worry about or replace.

The snow blower rotor has four paddles in the center of the auger and this quickly discharges the snow through the chute and spout. The Series 1000 snow thrower comes a three point hitch mount that can be removed if you ever wiah to convert it to hydraulic drive.

The Series 1000 unit comes with a manually adjusted chute rotator and manual spout angle control as standard equipment.

You can purchase the series 1000 as a basic unit and add hydraulic chute rotation and spout control later if so desired.

I have to call Reist today to find out the current price for a basic series 1000 unit for a friend and I will post it here too.

There's a Snow Removal forum on TBN...lot's of info in that forum.
Mine is a two-stage...the only thing I'd like to change is have a pull behind unit...but my blower isn't that old and I'm not going to spend any money on something that works quite satisfactorily
