Looking to buy a small cement mixer

I don't remember seeing any Ridgid cement mixers in the Home Depot near me the last time I was in there. I am going to go and check it out again this weekend if I get a chance.

I just looked thru the Ridgid web site and there is no mention of a cement mixer in their product line. Maybe this is something that was discontinued.

Jim I picked up a Husky brand cement mixer at Home Depot this weekend for $299. Might be the one Eddie is talking about. It seems to be built fairly well and has a 5 cu ft. capacity. I haven't mixed any mud with it yet, but the boss lady did use it to mix up some potting soil /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have had one of the Blue Kushlan look alikes from Harbor freight for a few months now and I am quite happy with it. I paid $229 for it. It comes disassembled and requires about an hour to put it together. The motor has plenty of power to turn the mixer under all conditions. The poly drum cleans up super easy and I like how easy it rolls with a full load of mix. It can handle three 50lb bags or two 80lb bags of premix. I found it helped the mixing action to rest the rear legs on a piece of 2x6 and tip the drum forward slightly. It's also light enough that one man can lift it into a pickup. The only downside is you can't really off load to a wheel barrow since it sits pretty low.

I'm going to stop at Home Depot on my way to work this morning and see what they have. I am also going to take a look at the Multiquip - I like the fact that you can either put it on the wheelbarrow wheels or put it up on a stand. Sounds like the poly drum is the way to go.

I double checked and got it wrong. It's a Husky Portable Cement Mixer. Model #139064 for $299.

It looks like the HF mixer I linked to in the earlier post has been discontinued. Just when I had made up my mind to buy, too! I guess I'm off to HD to see what their $299 Husky model looks like.
